World Book Day

10th March 2017

Thursday the 2nd of March was World Book Day: across the country, children were reading, writing and dressing up as Harry Potter. Here at Slated Row, we celebrated very loudly and very happily. Students brought their favourite books to school to share with their classmates, and they brought their favourite book characters to life by coming to school in fancy dress. We spent the day reading for pleasure and responding creatively: from ‘stick men’ built out of sticks (based on Julia Donaldson’s “Stick Man”), to the performance of a contemporary dance routine to a Harry Potter remix, our students were truly inspired by books - a wonderful time was had by all. Thank you to everyone who got into the spirit of World Book Day and took part.
