Promoting Well Being & Positive Mental Health

We understand the great need to not only deal with physical health but also mental health. Classes have time at the start of each day to complete circle activities or give individuals time to share worries and hold restorative conversations about how we treat each other.

We have a dedicated well-being team for pupils struggling with relationships, engaging with learning or regulating their emotions (see Meet the Well Being Team).

Approaches and strategies used to develop good Mental Health and Well Being by class staff and the Well Being Team include:

  • Zones of Regulation
  • Restorative circles & conversations
  • Happiness boxes
  • Sensory diets/breaks/circuits
  • Talk time
  • Relaxation
  • Reflection
  • Social stories
  • Comic Strip Conversations
For our whole school approach to good Mental Health and Wellbeing see the policy section in 'about us'.
