Award from the Maria Marina Foundation

20th March 2018

We have been lucky enough to win an award from the Maria Marina Foundation, a charity set up to support education projects, through the Duke of Edinburgh organisation. We were presented with a cheque for £1000 which is going to be used to buy additional tents and camping stoves for our Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. This year we are taking our biggest group ever on expedition (nearly 30 students and members of staff) which means an awful lot of camping equipment! This is our fifth year of running the Bronze D of E Award in school and we continue to be amazed and incredibly proud of the effort our students put into the whole programme, particularly when taking part in the expedition.

We are always on the look out for additional equipment, so if anyone has any waterproofs, climbing boots or large rucksacks they no longer need we can always put them to good use.
