1st UK School Sport Educational Games

6th March 2017

Introduction: In 2015-2016, Clare Mount and Arbour Vale schools took part in a pilot of Unified Sport in football and basketball respectively. Subsequently both schools had an invitation to attend the 3rd World School Sport Education Games in Greece as representatives of Special Olympics UK.

The ethos of the World School Sport Education Games, like Unified Sport, centres on the power of sport to break down barriers and change lives – “sport speaks to us in a language that everyone understands”. The whole event is underpinned by the Olympic and Paralympic values, and the journey the pupils from Clare Mount and Arbour Vale went on was huge.

Slated Row School attended the inaugural UK School Sport Educational Games at Stoke Mandeville & Much Wenlock on 6th -7th March 2017.
